In December 2007 the Spier Contemporary, a biennial exhibition for contemporary South African art will open in a temporary building on the site of the new South Bank development as a precursor for for the Africa Centre to come.

The exhibition wil be housed in a temporary building constructed of shipping containers and tensile structures. Spier Contemporary will open its doors from mid December to the end of February.
